FinalizationAfter placement of your child, AIC will petition the court to finalize your adoption because, the court with jurisdiction over the child retains that jurisdiction until the adoption is legalized. Once your petition is filed with the court, your adoption finalization court date will be set.

Celebrate
Your adoption finalization is a day of celebration. AIC will be there to support you and celebrate with you as your adoption process becomes final. Many adoptive families invite extended family to join them in the court room. The judges love to be a part of this day and process. The judge will finalize your adoption in court and you will officially be done with the adoption process!
